As a parting remark by a college principle, I was told that he would look forward to the day that he saw my work hanging in MoMA. As such, I wasn’t quite sure how to take the remark. Was it final and long overdue gatekeeper validation of my clear artistic genius, or a form of mild mocking, better placed in a high school playground of false hope? I'll leave it up for you to decide. If you do actually see any of this stuff at MoMA in the future, my apologies in advance.

Layers series
Graphical abstractions of sandstone rock formations located at flat rock in the Northern Grampian's Victoria, Australia. I love this small rock formation to have so many different shapes within one place created from so many layers of compressed sand over a millennium
My interest in graphical abstraction came from my interest in comics as a kid and coming across the work of Jeffery Smart [link], Roy Lichtenstein [link] and Piet Mondrian [link] I like the idea of a one to one relationship a two dimensional medium representing effectively a two dimensional subject.

For Lease series
The CBD of Geelong has been in decline for a while, since Westfield [link] completed it's expansion a few years back. Why spend time walking outside to various shops when you can do everything you need to under one roof? The logic is sound and people have voted with their feet. So it's not really surprising the effect it's had on shop fronts, with the CBD looking much like a ghost town. Such is life.
Note: Yes, I realise I could have gotten rid of the reflections, had I used a polarising filter, but alas I didn't use one. Also should have used a grey card due to the variable light sources with different colour temperatures. Also I didn't bother with HDR or exposure blending my lecturers will no doubt be rolling over in their graves one day, well maybe not on the HDR front. I could put it down to my artist vision coming out just the way I wanted it too but frankly I was just too lazy to go the extra mile, that a commercial photographer would have gone to.
