The Fifth Element - Hollywood series

The Hollywood series followed on from the Le Tour Series [link], as I looked for other outlets for the technique, such as news broadcasts in the 9/11 remembered series [link]

Looking into the role of  subjectivity and objectivity in creation of the final image.

Pulling a John Cura [link] /Sugimoto [link] /Friedlander [link] with a healthy does of Thomas Ruff  [link] and Ernst Haas [link]. In mid 2012 I stumbled upon the Movies series by Fred Cray [link], during an excursion to the Cleveland Museum of Art [link],  who unbeknownst to me, who did pretty much the same thing, longer exposures of moving images.

Billboards series

There isn't a place in the USA that you can't find a billboard.......well pretty much. Anyway it's something that I noticed strait away from my travels and a subject that I have always returned on each trip I've made out to The Land of Frosted Cornflakes.

Tape series

Tape was an installation at Federation Square, created by the revolutionary Viennese/Croatian design collective mavericks Numen/For Use [link]. Tape Melbourne was a temporary work made entirely of regular packing tape, a self-extinguishing tape and multiple layers of the transparent adhesive. Looking like a more angelic alien hive [link] that H.R.Giger  [link] would be proud

If it wasn't already apparent looking through my work, I have a fascination with surfaces. So this was an indulgence to say the least. The transparent nature of the surface and texture like something out of the Alien movies.

The installation ran from the 13th to the 24th of September 2011.
